I'm not sure what to make of this. Possibly that I missed a career in Jodie Foster impressions, although I'm probably disqualified for a lot of other reasons. (Before you ask, I'm not sure I've ever even seen a lamb.) Anyway, the upshot is that I like it when you do podcasts for movies I've seen and can't be spoiled for!

It's funny that your most favorite part is the "ha ha! fooled you, jerk!" editing that leads into the climax. It's awful effective, and I know deep in my brain's heart that virtually every movie is necessarily guilty of the sin of omission--heck, my favorite scene in the movie, Hannibal's break-out, is very nearly as at fault--but man, it really bothers me in ways that are hard to describe just how bluntly Demme is willing to lie to you, just to throw you off balance. Because "sex murderer cave and torture pit" are insufficient?

Speaking of Demme, I've been meaning to watch some of his early thrillers. I think there's one where Roy Scheider apparently throws somebody off Niagra Falls. According to the box art, anyway.

I can't believe it took me this long to get the hint for the week after this one. Jeez, I was about to guess Texas Chainsaw 2. Then it came to me. I'm sure it's been guessed already, but rest assured I know damn well what you're doing--and I approve.Hunter Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10925220178171355473noreply@blogger.com
